Eric & Shannon found love over sushi.
Eric was out with the guys one night at Ra Sushi in the Shops at Legacy, when he saw Shannon across the room. She was with a coworker and didn’t realize that Eric fancied her. Friends described him as “star struck” and that’s where it all started. The two started talking and a week later, they were on their first date.
Eric took Shannon to Kenichi, a sushi restaurant in Dallas. Shannon told us, “I remember thinking he had great taste because I had heard Kenichi had some of the best sushi in Dallas. Later, Eric told me he took me there to test how much I liked sushi because its one of his favorite things to eat. It worked out perfect, since it’s mine, too!”
They were engaged a year later when he proposed at the exact same sushi place, Kenichi, which she almost ruined because she tried to leave work early and he almost didn’t get to pick her up! Whew! So glad that worked out. They sat in the same booth as they did on the first day, so romantic!
Where did you get married and Why?
It was at THE SPRINGS in North DFW on October 2nd, almost a year after they reserved their date during a tour of the venue the year before in October of 2014. Shannon said, “the main reason we picked it was because the venue is absolutely gorgeous! We really wanted to get married outside but also wanted the reception inside because of the heat, so this venue fit our needs perfectly.“
When we asked her to describe her favorite parts of the venue, she said, “The outside gave that fairytale feel and the inside was the perfect combination of romantic and not too modern (the chandeliers were the perfect touch). Then, when we found out we had the venue from morning to midnight AND we could pick our own vendors, we were sold!”
Tell us about the wedding, what was your favorite part?
The details: The wedding had 85 guests in attendance with ceremony & reception onsite. They hosted an elegant dinner service, an italian-themed buffet with white, silver and champagne decor throughout their personalized decorations. Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner catered the event and H&H Bartending kept the party going until the very end.
Shannon told us about her favorite memories of the wedding day. “One that stands out is our first dance. The venue looked so beautiful and the song was perfect. Eric has never been a fan of dancing, so for him to dance with me in front of all our guests right after saying our vows made me feel so special.”
This couple made most all of the decorations, including signs and games to keep their guests entertained. They had a beautiful cake and desert table and lots of intimate photos on the wooden parson tables provided by the venue on display for all to view. George Street Photo took wonderful pictures throughout the event and shared them with us for this blog post.
The couple honeymooned in Bali, a great start to a life full of happiness.
Congratulations Eric & Shannon and thank you for letting us be a part of your wedding day.
